New Ronaldo Nike Commercial

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Today is dangerously turning into “I ♥ Manchester United Day” so I need to be careful moving forward.

Saw it on Fox Football Fone-in last night. Good commercial. Epitomizes the general public’s overall feeling about CR7.

If the phrase “hate the game, not the playa” was created with a particular athlete in mind, it was probably Cristiano Ronaldo.

Random News 8/11/08 (Setanta, Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Georgia Conflict)

I found this really great article which is a case study the inner workings of Setanta. It focuses on their deal with the SPL, which just got extended. This is an great read.

Blog/fansite RonaldoWORLD is reporting that Mirror is reporting that Alex Ferguson is going to hold a serious grudge against Real Madrid after their push to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. I went to the Mirror and couldn’t find it but here’s their post.

Speaking of Fergie, it’s now rumored that he’s going after Theirry Henry. If Henry knows his roll, Man U has the potential to be a cracking team this year.

Ah, Jose Mourinho. Great to have you back in the mix. The Special One claims that the current Arsenal squad is too young, thereby without enough experience to snag the league cup. He also thinks that Liverpool will take the top title this year.

Ghana moves up a spot in the FIFA rankings…GOOD FOR THEM!!!

The FA of Ireland has concerns about their upcoming qualifier in Georgia due to the current conflict over there, and rightly so.

Random News 8/4/08 (Cristiano Ronaldo, GolTV, Giovanni dos Santos, Jurgen Klinsmann)

With Wesley Sneijder out for an approximate six months, the talk about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid is back in full force, which is pretty much where it was already. Both Fox Sports and the Times Online are reporting.

Another story in the GolTV/Dish Network drama, but this one has comments from both sides of the table. (Courtesy Multichannel News)

Goal.com did a nice write-up on Giovanni dos Santos and his move to Tottenahm Hotspur. He’s saying that would like to follow in Cristiano Ronaldo’s footsteps, which is a good goal to have. He may not hit that mark but he’ll have some breathing room to do so at his new club, which I think will have a REALLY good year. They may not win the the Leaugue cup but they’ll have an impressive showing. (Courtesy Goal.com)

Also at Goal.com is a nice season preview of Bundesliga super power Bayern Munich, with Jürgen Klinsmann a focal point of the article. After winning the League title earlier this year, Bayern felt the need to sign a powerhouse manager. I’m going to throw this move in with Inter Milan’s signing of Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid’s hot pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo and other moves made clubs attempting to secure a Champions League trophy.
